Marco, first of all, thank you for agreeing to this interview. Feedback from our clients is always a very special and enriching moment for our daily work.

Cambox : Can you introduce yourself ?
Marco : My name is Marco Gerarduzzi, and I will be 22 years old this year. I have been passionate about motorsport since I was very young.

How did this passion for the sport begin ? 🏁
My father had a team at the Porsche Motorsport Club and he also raced in the Carrera Cup from 2008 to 2011. Today, we participate in the Porsche Sprint Challenge with a 991 Cup phase 2, and I am competing in a few rounds of the championship this year.

Is there a particular attraction to this brand, a family passion ?
Of course, my father has been driving for over 25 years. He started with an old Porsche that he restored himself. Over time, he improved his consistency, which allowed him to win a championship. When I was little, we would go together, and I loved it. And of course, it’s always a pleasure to drive with a prestigious brand like Porsche.

Do you have other passions in life ?
Yes, since I was very young, I have been playing the saxophone. When I was in primary school, my teacher gave us a saxophone demonstration, and I was completely captivated! I talked to my mother about it, and she then offered me my instrument and enrolled me in the conservatory, where I studied for 8 years. It helps me recharge and relax. It’s completely different from motorsport, but it involves a lot of focus, which helps me channel my emotions and perform in public. I usually play jazz and contemporary pop music.

How did you discover Cambox ?
I discovered Cambox onboard cameras through videos on social media. I really liked the idea of having a camera in the helmet. Before, I had a GoPro, and the viewing angle was never right, and getting the camera focus right was very complicated. The systems offered by other brands were less appealing than Cambox, where you can really perceive the driver’s emotions and the smallest details. Since I got my Cambox V4 Pro, I come across many videos from content creators with great notoriety who use your cameras, like Romain Monti, for example.

Since when have you been using the Cambox V4 Pro helmet camera ? 🎥
I started using the Cambox two years ago when I was driving single-seaters. The V4 Pro is the first camera I bought from you, and I am very satisfied with it. I wanted 4K resolution instead of HD; I preferred to go straight for the best and have something of very high quality.

How do you use the Cambox ?
I mainly use it in competitions with the Porsche and the single-seater. I also used it when I was doing rental karting with my friends.

What do you appreciate most about this camera, and what is its main advantage ?
For me, it’s that the Cambox takes up no space at all. At first, I was afraid it would obstruct my field of vision, but it doesn’t at all, which is great!

You are part of the DBG Motorsport 21 team, can you tell us more about it ?
The team was created two years ago. The car belongs to my father’s best friend and an investor. Today, the car is rented by the driver Franck Belard, who is doing the full season. He already did the season with us last year and finished as the runner-up in the category. This year, we are sharing the wheel with him again. I am doing a few races in the championship, and another driver is set to be announced for the end of the season. My father, Daniel, and the two owners will also be driving. This year is really a test year with the new car. Our goal is to move to a 992 Cup and potentially compete in the Carrera Cup next year. We aim to keep the current Porsche for our partners, for first-time rides, track days, and the 992 will be for the championship.

What does your community appreciate most about the videos you post on social media ?
My community is very happy to see these onboard images because it’s a sport that not everyone has access to; we are very privileged to be able to do it. I have received a lot of feedback saying it’s really nice to have a complete immersion inside the vehicle. I was pleased with this feedback because, with other camera models, you don’t get the same feeling and emotion.

What is your relationship with the Cambox team ?
The team has been very responsive and very professional when I asked questions about the camera, so I am really happy with the relationship and the purchase I made.

What are your goals for this year ? 🎯
I am going to participate in the Porsche Junior Programme to try to win the race and compete in the championship next year. And with DBG, the Porsche Sprint Challenge. The weekend of May 20th, in Dijon, will be my first sprint race on my own. Last year, I did the endurance race at Le Mans where I shared the wheel.

In your opinion, what are the three words that best define Cambox helmet cameras ?
Passion, for different sports like motorsports, equestrian, cycling, etc.
Immersion, with complete onboard vision.
Performance, because even in extreme conditions, where it’s around 60 degrees in the cars, the cameras are of top quality!
